Chitika is not a ptc site, it is what they call a "search targeting" ad site. See video at the end of the review on how the targeting works.


Publishers can monetize their very own site or blog by adding these targeted ads to their sites. Please note that all countries can join and earn from this site. However, the ads are only targeted to US & Canadian readers.


We are going to move Chitika from our legit list to the Elite List. Site has been online and paying for over 8 years. Here are the pros & cons of this site:


PROS:




1. Established - Founded May 2003. That is over 8 years of service.









2. Yes, it Pays - I took a little time for us to test and get paid from this site since we are testing other sites as well. We were paid and others are reporting payments as well. Here are our payment proofs and links to other people's proofs as well:

3. All Countries Can Earn - All publishers from all countries can earn as long as their site is in English. Non English sites are not accepted as per their terms. You will earn off of USA and Canadian visitors and clicks.


4. Referral Program - They do have a referral program and there is no limit on the number you can refer to this site. However you will earn 10% of the CPC revenue that your referrals earns for up to 15 months from their approval date.

CONS


1. Some Complaints - You will find some complaints out there. Every site is going to have them. The biggest ones are the "Chitika sucks" complainers. Why? Because their CPc (cost per click) will fluctuate. The rates are not set, they depend solely on the advertisements and the market. Some days it will be up, and some days it will be down.

Some Things You Should Know About This Site...

• Specific CPC values can fluctuate depending on the market

• You can earn 10% of what your referrals earn

• You are eligible to earn commissions for each referral for 15 months following each referral’s approval date

• You will only be paid based upon audited revenue.

 Summary:

We tested this program on our blog and believe they are a safe and paying program to use. Be sure to read the terms and do not try to use this program on ads in ptc sites and ask people to click on your Chitika ads. That is considered click fraud and your earnings could be forfeited if you are found to be cheating the system.
